In 1958 a couple of white high school boys in Raleigh, N.C. decided to form a band called "The Satellites". They played for high school dances and parties. On a good night they made as much as $60.00. The name didn't last long but the Rhythm & Blues they played lived on. Delta Blues was done rarely by white boys.

Through the years Rhythm & Blues has been called Motown or Soul Music but from Virginia to Carolina it was known as "Beach Music". To say that the "Embers" plays Beach Music is a considerable understatement. After 15 albums and numerous 45's including the hit " I love Beach Music" they remain one of the most active bands in the South playing over 300 dates a year.
